There are a large number of boats moored along the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal, but not all owners live on them or even live locally.

While the Valleys and Vale Neighbourhood Watch Association covers the length of the canal from Parkend Bridge to Sharpness basin, the Boat Watch messaging system has been extended to cover from Parkend Bridge to Gloucester Docks as well
